Mining Industry

Mining Industry requires a large volume of lime products, particularly Quicklime, for the recovering of gold or treating copper.

Both of our High Active Quicklime and Hydrated Lime are used extensively in the froth flotation of Copper, Nickel and Zinc as well as in Gold and Silver processing to ensure ideal pH in the leaching circuit.

Quicklime is used to remove silica from bauxite ore and for causticisation in the manufacturing of alumina. Whereas, Hydrated Lime is used to neutralise the noxious gas fumes of SO2 in the smelting and refining of copper, zinc, lead and other non-ferrous ores, preventing the formulation of sulphuric acid in the atmosphere, as well as the corrosion of plant equipment.

Quicklime and Hydrated Lime are also used in treating the resulting effluents in order to help protect the environment where some mining sites employ lime softening to reduce scale or to purify the water for the boiler operation, coal mining, metal mining and non-metal mines. This is accomplished by neutralising acids from mining waters and precipitating metals and non-metals.

Quicklime is also used to dry and stabilise mining waste sludge, bio- solids and act as a reagent in mining water treatment plants, adjusting pH level and add alkalinity.

Our High Active Quicklime and Hydrated Lime are the exact and right products that mine owners are looking for, thanks to their excellent in quality, efficiency and consistency. The combination of high Calcium Oxide, low total sulphur levels, low impurities, low loss on ignition and controlled fines content allows metal companies to reduce cost and meet the stringent quality standards required in today’s market.

For coal mines, our GCC can be used as passive fire protection in hazardous environments
